TorQuest completed the acquisition of Amenity Health Care and Rubicon Pharmacies as part of two separate transactions and merged them under the Rubicon name. Rubicon is the largest owner and operator of independent pharmacies in Western Canada, operating stores located in mostly rural and underserviced communities. Rubicon’s pharmacies are a critical component of health care delivery in the areas it serves, with many locations offering an expanded scope of pharmacy services. TorQuest was attracted to Rubicon due to its niche in the industry, successful track record of executing on a targeted acquisition strategy, and strong management team. In 2017, TorQuest completed its initial investment in Amenity before making a follow-on investment in 2018 to facilitate the merger with Rubicon. TorQuest plans to accelerate Rubicon’s growth via organic initiatives and accretive acquisitions.
