EW Disaster Kleenup makes three acquisitions to expand its presence

Toronto, Ontario – EW Disaster Kleenup Canada L.P. announced today that it has acquired three more emergency response and restoration businesses, one in Northern Ontario, one in Manitoba and one in Nova Scotia.

The acquisitions are part of EW’s strategy of building Canada’s leading national provider of disaster restoration services.

The newly acquired businesses are Airkem Disaster Kleenup of Timmins, Ontario, Première Restoration Services Ltd. of Winnipeg, Manitoba and K.B. Clarke Disaster Kleenup of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

EW already has operations across Southern Ontario and in British Columbia. Including the newly acquired Airkem, Première Restoration and K.B. Clarke operations, EW has more than $125 million in annual revenue and more than 600 direct employees in 23 cities and towns across Canada.

With these two new acquisitions EW continues its growth momentum and expands its ability to provide one-stop shopping for its customers and enhanced career opportunities for its employees,” said Lyle Kerr, EW’s President and Chief Executive Officer. While we now have strong operations in central Canada and the Atlantic and Pacific coasts, there is still significant potential for us to acquire more independent Canadian operators.”

Added Shawn Fournier, President of Airkem, By joining forces with EW, we have enhanced our capabilities, increased our growth potential and created expanded opportunities for our employees. The result will be a stronger business well-positioned to provide additional value to our customer base in Northern Ontario and to EW as a whole.”

Vance Hallett and Claude Couture, Co-Presidents of Première Restoration, Our ability to offer expert service across Manitoba can only be improved as we combine our seasoned staff with that of EW. Between us, we have many decades of experience in restoration and construction and we are all committed to the highest business standards.”

Added Kevin Clarke, President of K.B. Clarke, and the current President of the trade group Disaster Kleenup Canada, said EW’s financial strength, its integrity and its reputation for quality and service played an important role in our decision to become part of this national enterprise. Our ability to share resources and best practices with our colleagues across Canada will benefit us all and will provide added value to our customers in Nova Scotia.”

The current Airkem, Première Restoration and K.B. Clarke management teams will continue to manage the day-to-day disaster restoration business in their respective provinces, while driving both organic and acquisition growth in their regions. In addition, the current Airkem, Première Restoration and K.B. Clarke management teams will become significant shareholders of EW and an integral part of the new EW national management team.
